Facilities for Disabled Students

The college provides special facilities for the disabled students and persons to provide them opportunities to adopt quality education and to bring them into the main stream of the society. The available facilities in the institute are as follows:

  1. Physical Facilities:

The college has a social responsibility and perception that disabled students should be respected and treated as a normal human being. The wheel chair facility is provided for disabled students.

  1. Ramp/Rails:

The college has a special facility of ramp and rails for the differently abled students. Near the main entrances the ramp is clearly identifiable and easily accessible. It can accommodate wheelchair users. Floor steps have hand railings and the entrance permitting access to a conveniently located lift.

  1. Rest Rooms:

Toilets are available for people with disabilities with indications outside at each floor. They are clearly identifiable and accessible. The doors are wide enough and lockable from inside and releasable from outside. The rods are installed for support to them in toilets. There is enough maneuvering space inside. All floor surfaces are slip resistant. Mirrors, flushing arrangements, dispensers mounted at appropriate heights.

  1. Scribes for Examination:

There are some students who feel difficult to take the examination and they need scribes with them. The college provides or allows the students to take the help of scribes in the examination. The extra time is allowed for disable students for examination.

  1. Provision for Lift

Parking for people with disabilities is available near the building. Accessible indoor parking spaces are located close to the lift. The lift space is wide enough to accommodate wheelchair users and sufficient movement for them. Appropriate heights control panels and the large buttons are embossed. Visual and audible signals indicating the arrival at different floors is available. The liftman is hired for lift to help students.
