Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering at AISSMS IOIT, Pune. The Department of Electrical Engineering is established in 1999. The department offers UG in Electrical Engineering and PG in Power Electronics and Drives. The department currently has a team of 13 professional faculty members., and 7 well qualified staff. The faculty members have been contributing to administrative activities within and outside the Institute.
The vision of the department is to contribute to society by imparting quality education in the field of electrical engineering and prepare students to succeed in their professional careers by inculcating in them high human values.
The department’s mission is to develop innovative and socially responsible engineering professionals by delivering in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering.
In the department, near about 30 courses are offered, encompassing all areas of electrical engineering. Faculty and students are engaged in courses and research in the fields viz; power systems, control systems, power electronics, electrical machines, renewable systems, and power quality. The department has well equipped laboratories and excellent computational facilities. Software like MATLAB, PSCAD, ETAP, EDSA FLUKE Power Log, Fluke Energy Analyze Plus, Janitza GridVis Ultimate Planer, Elspec PQSCADA Sapphire are available in the department to carry out projects in various areas of electrical engineering.
Several minor and major research grants have been sanctioned to department faculty members by BCUD, SPPU, and AICTE in the last five years. This has led to the development of center of excellence in power quality. Indigenously developed D.M.Tagre Power Quality Experience Center is attracting the attention of elite industries. The department has also received grants for organizing various courses, workshops, and conferences for faculty as well as students.
The department has I connect cell under which every faculty member connect to industries for industrial visit, expert lecture, sponsored project, internship and placement for our students. The department endeavors to produce confident professionals tuned to real time working environment. Our major recruiters are Neilsoft, Konecrane, TCS, Godrej, Conentrix and Birlasoft. Our Alumni have made excellent contributions in various fields like entrepreneurship, industry, and academics.
A competitive environment is fostered and development of leadership, and team skills are also encouraged by means of the department professional body societies such as Institute of Engineers India (IEI), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), Renewable Energy Club (REC) and Electrical Engineering Student’s Association (EESA) which holds various co curricular and extracurricular events, contests for students to bring out hidden talents. All UG, PG students thereby get an opportunity to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities which leads to the overall professional development of students.
