View ProfileDr. Rakesh Bapu Dhumale is an accomplished academician, researcher and administrator with more than 17 years of teaching, research and institutional development experience in the field of Electronics, Telecommunication, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Presently serving as Dean – Research & Development at AISSMS Institute of Information Technology, Pune, he has consistently contributed towards strengthening research culture, innovation, industry collaboration, and outcome-based academic practices.
He completed his Ph.D. in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University and additionally holds M.Tech. in Electronics Technology, MBA (HRM), and a PG Certification in Deep Learning from SVNIT Surat. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Fault Diagnosis Systems, Renewable Energy Systems, IoT, Smart Agriculture and Power Electronics.
Dr. Dhumale has an impressive research profile with 49 international journal publications, 22 international and national conference papers, 8 regional conference papers, 7 patents, and 4 copyrights to his credit. His publications are indexed in reputed databases including SCOPUS and SCIE journals, reflecting significant contributions in AI-driven diagnostics, intelligent systems, renewable energy applications, healthcare analytics, and industrial automation. His scholarly impact is evident through more than 435 Google Scholar citations, Scopus citations, and an h-index of 11.
As Dean R&D, he has actively promoted interdisciplinary and socially relevant research projects. He has successfully secured research and development funding of approximately ₹37 lakh from agencies including IEEE EPICS, IEEE HAC, and Savitribai Phule Pune University for projects related to renewable energy, electric vehicles, HAM radio communication, wildlife protection, disaster management, and smart community solutions.
Dr. Dhumale has played a key role in organizing conferences, faculty development programs, workshops, and innovation activities at institutional and national levels. He has also guided students and faculty members in research publication, patent filing, project development, and industry-oriented innovation activities. His leadership has significantly contributed to strengthening NBA, NAAC, research coordination, internship activities, and institutional academic quality initiatives.
He is a life member of ISTE and a professional member of IEEE. His achievements include the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Ideas, Innovation & Impact in Science & Technology and recognition at the University Level Avishkar Research Competition. Through his academic leadership and research vision, Dr. Dhumale continues to promote innovation, sustainable technological development, and impactful research for societal benefit.
